The Carroll Cougars can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by Tri-Central on the road to the tune of 69-19. With Carroll ahead 38-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Carroll was led to victory by Alli Harness and Madison Wagner. Harness almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine assists, while Wagner shot 4-for-8 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Wagner is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Jillian Salts, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Tri-Central saw an underclassman step up: Logan Creason scored six points along with ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Creason pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Carroll has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Tri-Central, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carroll's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Comets at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Caston's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Tri-Central, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
