East Stroudsburg South is 0-5 against Emmaus since April of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Cavaliers will host the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
East Stroudsburg South made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bethlehem Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cavaliers blew past the Hawks 11-4 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Joslynn Yurescko was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Johanna Carey was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Joey Cappa was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Emmaus, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Louis E. Dieruff get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Wednesday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Like East Stroudsburg South, Emmaus also got a great game from a two-way player: Amanda King. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). King was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Emmaus got a massive performance out of Avery DeFanti, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Haleigh Gigliotti, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Emmaus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .821. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Emmaus' victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for East Stroudsburg South, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. East Stroudsburg South hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. However, it's not like Emmaus struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
East Stroudsburg South came up short against Emmaus in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 4-0. Will the Cavaliers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
