Given Fort Bend Austin's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Broncos are ranked 769th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Bend Austin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Crystal Schultz, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 3 assists. Schultz continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Shun?teria Anumele, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Hightower stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Fort Bend Elkins, posting a 63-28 victory at home.
Fort Bend Austin pushed their record up to 30-1 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.1 points. As for Fort Bend Hightower, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season.
