The Moscow Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Pullman Greyhounds at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Moscow has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 11th.
Lewiston hit Moscow with a six-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears came up short against the Golden Bengals, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly ten runs.
Madilyn Hennrich was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Pullman and West Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Greyhounds were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Eagles on Saturday. Considering the Greyhounds have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Bailee Randall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Randall was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Pullman let Taylor Cromie and Isabelle Dahmen run wild. Cromie went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI, while Dahmen went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Dahmen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was MJ Druffel, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Pullman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Moscow's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Pullman, their record now sits at 12-3.
Everything went Moscow's way against Pullman when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Moscow made off with a 23-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
