Everything went their way against Hanks on Tuesday as Burges made off with a 51-28 victory. Given Burges' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Hanks is ranked 587th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Burges' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordyn Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Hernandez's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Priscilla Diaz, who scored ten points.
Ysleta has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Burges, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.
