Murray is 7-2 against Hillcrest since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Murray Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Hillcrest Huskies at 5:30 p.m. Murray knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Hillcrest likes a good challenge.
Even though Park City scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, Murray still came out on top. Murray took their contest against Park City 73-63. Given Murray's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Park City is ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murray to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quinton Christman, who scored 21 points along with five assists and three steals. Christman hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Treyce Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest was able to grind out a solid win over Tooele on Tuesday, taking the game 54-47.
Murray's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. As for Hillcrest, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Murray strolled past Hillcrest in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 by a score of 72-57. Will Murray repeat their success, or does Hillcrest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
