Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Knightstown

Knightstown won against Tri on Monday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Panthers blew past the Daleville Broncos 13-3. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Knightstown's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Johnson a new career-high. Another was Bryce Marrow, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Knightstown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive contests.

Knightstown pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Daleville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightstown will host Hagerstown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.9, the Tigers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Daleville, they will be playing at home against Muncie Burris at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
