The Oaks The Mighty Oaks will head out on the road to face off against the Eastwood Christian Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Oaks is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Oaks' game on Tuesday was all tied up 31-31 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Victory Christian Academy 57-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Oaks came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Victory Christian Academy is ranked 320th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Joey Allen, who scored 27 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Elisha Hallmark was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Eastwood Christian can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Russell Christian Academy by a score of 57-46. The win was just what Eastwood Christian needed coming off of a 55-30 defeat in their prior contest.
Their wins bumped Oaks to 8-2 and Victory Christian Academy to 5-7.
Everything went Oaks' way against Eastwood Christian when the teams last played back in November as Oaks made off with a 63-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oaks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
