Garrett hasn't had much luck against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Railroaders will welcome the Saints at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Garrett was handed a nine-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Fremont 4-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Railroaders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Grant Byers made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josh Hogle, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger came tearing into Tuesday's contest with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 9-2 win. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.
Like Garrett, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger also got a great game from a two-way player: KC Pieper. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Pieper has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Cole Reed looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Lucas Collins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Aslan Nolan, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne Wayne only posted an OBP of .375.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Garrett, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Garrett has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Garrett might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger when the teams last played back in May of 2024.
