Connersville is 8-2 against Northeastern since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Connersville Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Northeastern Knights at 7:30 p.m.
Last Saturday, Connersville didn't have quite enough to beat Lawrenceburg and fell 52-50. The Spartans have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Connersville might have lost, but man, Jadan Peterson was a machine: he en route to 23 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Peterson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Allen, who posted three points along with five assists and four steals.
Even though they lost, Connersville was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrenceburg only nine assists.
Meanwhile, Northeastern came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 53-42 victory over the Golden Falcons. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Golden Falcons are ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Connersville better keep an eye on Sam White. He was instrumental in Northeastern's win, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds. White is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 23 games he's played dating back to last season. Noah Payne was another key player, putting up eight points.
Connersville's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Northeastern, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1.
Connersville came up short against Northeastern when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 52-43. Can Connersville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
