Mendez has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Deondro Lopez, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Capital posted their biggest win since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past Grants 79-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Pojoaque Valley's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Capital, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
