4A Region I District 6 recap November 5, 2013
Dunbar added to the longest winning streak in 4A Region I District 6 this week by beating Eastern Hills, 51-14. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Wildcats.
Carter-Riverside and North Side played the closest game in the league this week, with Carter-Riverside eventually emerging with a 27-26 victory.
Saginaw's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Polston threw for 96 yards and Austin Wright had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Jaylen King contributed 104 yards. Bryson Bird helped Saginaw's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 16 yards.
Polston put up the best numbers through the air as the Rough Riders fell to Boswell. Polston's favorite target this week was Wright, who caught 5 passes for 62 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Wright. The Saginaw star has 35 catches for 597 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Dunbar takes on Saginaw. As it stands, Todd Lawson's team is in first, while Mike Peters' team is in fourth.
Chisholm Trail led 4A Region I District 6 in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Poly.
