On Saturday Fair Haven will take on Mt. Mansfield at 1:00 PM. Fair Haven don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Fair Haven might be getting used to good results now that the squad has three wins in a row. Last Friday, they won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Bellows Falls 17-16. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
Meanwhile, Mt. Mansfield faced Hartford in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mt. Mansfield didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 14-18 to Hartford. Mt. Mansfield's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Fair Haven's victory lifted them to 6-1 while Mt. Mansfield's defeat dropped them down to 5-2. We'll find out if Fair Haven can add another positive mark to their record or if Mt. Mansfield can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Fair Haven's step.
