Volleyball Recap: Burns Extends Winning Streak to Three

Burns waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Chase Trojans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Thursday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Burns took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-5.

Karlye Clay paced Burns' offense, picking up 14 kills. Clay got some help from Alexis Martin and her 22 assists. Peyton Devine controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Burns' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Chase, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Burns didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against East Gaston on the 21st. As for Chase, they will venture away from home to take on West Caldwell at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
