It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Willits Wolverines had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Berean Christian at home to the tune of 57-7. Considering Willits has won six contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Willits pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Cloverdale and 1-8 Upper Lake (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35.7% over those games). As for Berean Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7-1.
Willits will look to defend their home field on Friday against Kelseyville at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Kelseyville is ranked 502nd, while Willits is ranked 511th). Berean Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
