Corning had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Hillcrest Screamin Eagles by a score of 8-3. While the Bobcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Corning pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hillcrest, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Corning beat the Screamin Eagles by a score of 8-4 later that day.
