Madison is a perfect 10-0 against Rigby since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Madison comes in on 39 and Rigby on three.
Madison is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Thunder Ridge, who was ranked 24th at the time (Madison was ranked first). The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Titans on Tuesday.
The final score came out to 25-6, 25-15, 25-19.
Among those leading the charge was Brooke Wheeler, who had 16 digs and two assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in November of 2024.
If Canyon Ridge wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Rigby, they should've done a better job of containing Breleigh Youngstrom. The Trojans blew past the Riverhawks 3-0 on Monday for which the team can thank Youngstrom, who had 13 digs and one assist. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 15 times she's played.
The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-14.
Rigby's win bumped their record up to 29-6. As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 29-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Madison has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Rigby struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Madison was able to grind out a solid win over Rigby when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 2-0. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
