The Ribault Trojans will head out to take on the First Coast Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. First Coast took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Ribault, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Ribault made easy work of Westside and carried off a 21-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jayden Miller made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Ribault got a massive performance out of Jaquan Marion, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Marion has become a key player for the Trojans: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Braylin Clarke, who scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, First Coast came up short against Fletcher on Tuesday and fell 6-1. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hayden Carns was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, First Coast saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Howlett, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Ribault is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for First Coast, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
First Coast's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ribault has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .489. It's a different story for First Coast, though, as they've only averaged .357. Will they be able to contain Ribault's hitters?
Ribault suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to First Coast in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
