Basketball Recap: Maeve Mcginnis Key Part of a Team Effort in Raiders Win

Windsor Locks fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past the East Granby Crusaders with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-23. The win was all the more spectacular given the Raiders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Crusaders are ranked 35th).

Windsor Locks got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maeve McGinnis out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, McGinnis also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Hurdle, who posted 11 points.

Windsor Locks' win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for East Granby, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Windsor Locks has already played their next contest (against Canton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. East Granby will host Stafford at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
