It was a good run, but the Hillsborough Terriers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sumner. Hillsborough lost against Sumner in their previous head to head back in January of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 67-55 score last time.
Isaiah Williams was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with 9 blocks and 7 rebounds for Sumner. Williams is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karsten Walker, who scored 14 points.
Hillsborough's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Sumner, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsborough will take on Jesuit at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jesuit presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hillsborough in Florida (Jesuit is ranked 46th, while Hillsborough is ranked 353rd). As for Sumner, they will head out on the road to face off against Newsome at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
