Wendell is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Malad is on a 13-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Trojans will host the Dragons at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Wendell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.1 runs per game this season.
Wendell blew Declo out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Declo got their revenge. The Trojans fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 10-8. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Breanna Comstock put in work no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Comstock wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jace Olmos, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Olmos is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Macie Bird was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Malad never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against Soda Springs as they made off with a 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Liddia Gonzalez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Shulz, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Malad kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive contests.
Malad is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Wendell, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Wendell hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Malad struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Wendell might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Malad in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
