The Kansas School for the Deaf Jackrabbits's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 49-25 walloping at the hands of Veritas Christian. Kansas School for the Deaf was down 39-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Kansas School for the Deaf's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Grove, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Orlando Cobos-Sosa, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Gavin Oberzan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Veritas Christian, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Oberzan hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Nolan McGuire, who scored ten points.
Kansas School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Veritas Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Kansas School for the Deaf will head out on the road to take on the Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Guadalupe Centers has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29. As for Veritas Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Vikings at 8:00 p.m. Mission Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
