The Homer Pelicans lost against the Lincoln Prep Panthers back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Homer fell 66-53 to the Panthers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Homer in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.
Lincoln Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amarjae Young, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Young has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Stephen Burks, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Homer's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Lincoln Prep, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.
Homer will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lincoln Prep, they and the Warriors will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Frederick has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three matches.
