Seminole is 9-1 against Lake Brantley since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Seminole Seminoles will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Brantley Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Seminole is not getting complacent, as they comes into the match much higher ranked than Lake Brantley in Florida (Seminole is ranked 17th, while Lake Brantley is ranked 227th).
Even though DeLand scored an imposing 42 points on Friday, Seminole still came out on top. Seminole took their contest against DeLand 49-42. The win was just what Seminole needed coming off of a 28-3 defeat in their prior matchup.
Treyvin Clark had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Clark's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. Rodney Grant also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Lake Brantley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 27-7 loss at the hands of Apopka. The match was a close 10-7 at the break, but unfortunately for Lake Brantley it sure didn't stay that way.
Seminole's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.8 points per game. Lake Brantley has not been sharp this season, as they've lost six of their first seven matchups, which leaves them at a 1-6 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Seminole has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 184.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lake Brantley struggles in that department as they've been even better at 258.3 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Everything came up roses for Seminole against Lake Brantley when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 37-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seminole since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
