Smithfield-Selma had lost 19 straight on the road dating back to last season, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-20 to make it 20. They came up short against  the East Wake Warriors, falling  22-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  29-0  back in March.
As for East Wake, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record  this season. The result was nothing new for East Wake, who have now won ten contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
For East Wake's part,  Jaimee Fowler made a big impact no matter where she played. She  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. What's more,  Fowler posted five  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in March. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with three  runs and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Alissa Flood was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, four  runs,  and four  RBI.  Madison Smith was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 Looking ahead, Smithfield-Selma will face off against Knightdale at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on  a  15-game losing streak. East Wake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
