Basketball Recap: Southwestern Drops Highest Score of Season Against KIPP Legacy

Southwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the KIPP Legacy Lions, falling 97-73. One positive for the Spartans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

KIPP Legacy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shalon Robinson, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 28 points in addition to six assists and five boards. With that strong performance, Robinson is now averaging an impressive 16.8 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahmere Evans, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 25 points and five rebounds.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for KIPP Legacy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern will head out to challenge Waldron at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. As for KIPP Legacy, they will venture away from home to square off against Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in KIPP Legacy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
