Port St. Lucie is 0-8 against Bayside since February of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Jaguars will face off against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Port St. Lucie had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Synergy Magnet K12 on Thursday. The Jaguars blew past the Saints 20-4.

The team relied heavily on Ava Ward, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Mia Torres was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs.
Port St. Lucie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Bayside got the win against Heritage on Thursday by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.
NICOLE GARCIA spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, LEAH ACKER was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of JORDYN MILO, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Port St. Lucie has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Bayside, their record now sits at 9-10.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Port St. Lucie has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .567. However, it's not like Bayside struggles in that department as they've averaged .517. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Port St. Lucie suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to Bayside when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
