The Leadore Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 64-44 loss at the hands of Lima. Leadore was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.
Despite the loss, Leadore saw an underclassman step up: Dane Piippo scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Porter Mayo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Leadore has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Lima, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.
Leadore won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Miners at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Mackay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Friday. As for Lima, they will head out on the road to take on the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
