Bluefield extended the longest winning streak in Coalfield AA this week by beating Oak Hill, 51-50. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Beavers.
WestSide was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in the league.
Webster County's Jacob Thayer and Hunter Given have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Thayer has thrown for 764 yards this season, while Given, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 18 catches for 339 yards. Jacob Summe from Wyoming East leads the league in rushing with 1037 yards.
A big matchup in Coalfield AA this week will be when the Warriors take on Independence. Wyoming East is in third place, while the Patriots are in ninth place.
Bluefield and the Red Devils played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Bluefield eventually emerging with a 51-50 victory.
