On Friday Palmetto Ridge will take on Golden Gate at 7:00 PM. Palmetto Ridge aren't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the squad has another upset up their sleeve.
Their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Palmetto Ridge, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. They managed a somewhat close 18-14 victory over Gulf Coast. The win was some much needed relief for Palmetto Ridge as it spelled the end of their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Golden Gate have been struggling to pick up a win, with their match against Riverdale last Friday making it three winless games in a row. Golden Gate ended up on the wrong side of a painful 10-41 walloping at Riverdale's hands. Golden Gate were down by 10-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Palmetto Ridge's victory lifted them to 3-5 while Golden Gate's loss dropped them down to 5-3. We'll see if Palmetto Ridge can repeat their recent success or if Golden Gate bounce back and reverse their fortune.
