On Saturday, Lake Wales lost to the Knights on the road by a decisive 64-46 margin. While losing is never fun, Lake Wales can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Knights are ranked 77th).
Several Highlanders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samauri Wilson, who scored ten points. Wilson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Devin Ossinac, who scored seven points along with seven assists and two steals.
Lake Wales has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Ocoee, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-8.
Lake Wales is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Ocoee, they will take on the Knights at TBD on Tuesday.
