The Spartanburg Christian Academy Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Spartanburg Christian Academy has five straight wins, St. Joseph's Catholic has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Spartanburg Christian Academy earned a 5-1 victory over Greenville H.

Elizabeth Thompson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Thompson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Borla, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Borla is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another was Hayden Kennedy, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph's Catholic fell victim to Palmetto and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 20-0.
Spartanburg Christian Academy's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Spartanburg Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Joseph's Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Spartanburg Christian Academy's way against St. Joseph's Catholic in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Spartanburg Christian Academy made off with an 18-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
