Last Friday, Central Catholic had just enough and edged Antonian Prep out 2-1.
Central Catholic was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Alessandro Misael sierra and
Alejandro Gallegos, who scored both of Central Catholic's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 16 so far this season.
Meanwhile, for the first time this season, St. Pius X was forced to settle for a draw. They and St. Thomas Catholic finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw.
Central Catholic pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those six matchups. St. Pius X's draw makes their record 12-3-1 on the season.
Central Catholic took their victory against St. Pius X in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 6-0. Will Central Catholic repeat their success, or does St. Pius X have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
