The Belleville Tigers have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Northville Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on November 11th. Belleville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Northville likes a good challenge.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Belleville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past Saline 65-14 at home. Belleville might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten contests by 27 points or more this season.
Bryce Underwood was his usual excellent self, throwing for 365 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80.8% of his passes. Underwood has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Beasley, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Meanwhile, Northville beat Catholic Central 24-17 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Northville.
Northville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Deak out in front who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown.
Belleville has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.08 points. As for Northville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Everything came up roses for Belleville against Northville when the teams last played back in October as the team secured a 42-0 victory. Will Belleville repeat their success, or does Northville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
