Maggie Altman was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Graham, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hilltop kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Mohawk made sure to put some runs up on the board against Upper Sandusky on Tuesday. The Warriors walked away with a 12-8 win over the Rams. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Mohawk let Mallory Brickner and Katie Woodland run wild. Brickner went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Woodland went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Trenna Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Mohawk pushed their record up to 22-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Hilltop, their record is now 26-3.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hilltop hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .398. However, it's not like Mohawk struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hilltop skirted past Mohawk 7-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2021. Do the Cadets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
