Perry is 2-8 against McKinley since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Perry Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the McKinley Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. Hopefully Perry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
Perry's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They fell 55-47 to Marietta. While losing is never fun, Perry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while Marietta is ranked 142nd).
Perry's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Luke Wolf, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds, and Darnell Mcleod who scored 13 points along with three steals. The game was Wolf's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kyson Walker, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but McKinley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past GlenOak 64-61. The win made it back-to-back wins for McKinley.
Perry's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for McKinley, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Perry took a serious blow against McKinley in their previous matchup back in January, falling 76-29. Can Perry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
