After flying high against the Show-Me Christian Angels last Friday, Training Center Christian came back down to earth. Training Center Christian took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Midland Adventist Academy on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Training Center Christian of the 62-47 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Training Center Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Creed Lopez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Lopez is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Bryan, who scored ten points along with seven steals.
Training Center Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Midland Adventist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Training Center Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Ozanam at 12:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Ozanam focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Monday. As for Midland Adventist Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against The Daniel Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland Adventist Academy is facing The Daniel Academy at the right time seeing as The Daniel Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
