Wayne hasn't had much luck against Northmont recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will take on the Thunderbolts at 5:00 p.m. Wayne will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
On Wednesday, Wayne made easy work of Fairborn and carried off a 14-1 victory.
Briella Lawrence got the start for Wayne and what a start it was: she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Lawrence has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cheyenne Townsend, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Emily Hames was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Northmont gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 10-6 win over Miamisburg. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbolts.
Adee Kautz (2027) was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Rylie Meeds (2026), who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Wayne's record now sits at 10-15. As for Northmont, their record is now 15-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Wayne hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Northmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Wayne couldn't quite get it done against Northmont in their previous meeting on Friday as they fell 11-6. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
