Fairfield is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Manchester is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lions will welcome the Greyhounds at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fairfield's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Whiteoak as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Rilee Quickle, who gave up just four hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Whiteoak off the board. Quickle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ally Maynard was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs. Kelsie Crowder was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Manchester got the win against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington on Thursday by a conclusive 17-4.
Rylie Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Young was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Elliana Applegate was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Addilyn Hunter, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Manchester is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fairfield, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fairfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like Manchester struggles in that department as they've averaged .571. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fairfield beat Manchester 12-8 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
