Butler is 8-2 against Fairborn since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Butler Aviators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fairborn Skyhawks at 7:15 p.m. Butler has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Butler beat Greenville 48-36. The victory was just what Butler needed coming off of a 74-41 defeat in their prior game.
Even though Fairborn has not done well against West Carrollton recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Fairborn came out on top in a nail-biter against West Carrollton and snuck past 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Fairborn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taiyou Williams led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds. Sean Townsend was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
Butler now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Fairborn, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Butler strolled past Fairborn in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 47-30. Will Butler repeat their success, or does Fairborn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
