This season hasn't been kind to the DeSoto Dragons, who are still winless after their fourth game. They were the victim of a rough 63-37 loss at the hands of Jefferson on Monday. DeSoto has not had much luck with Jefferson recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Jefferson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Megan Wood out in front who scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Wood is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Neels, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
DeSoto's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jefferson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
DeSoto will head out on the road to face off against Mehlville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jefferson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Valley Park at 6:00 p.m.
