Basketball Recap: Western Christian Comes Up Short

Western Christian played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Alta Loma Braves and fell 69-40. The matchup marked the Fighting Lancers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Western Christian still got an impressive performance from Brian Wallace, who posted 16 points and five rebounds. Wallace's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kevin Xiong, who had seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Western Christian and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Alta Loma, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Western Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-61 defeat against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on the 20th. As for Alta Loma, they will be taking part in a tournament against Redlands East Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Redlands East Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.
