2A Tri-River recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 2A Tri-River this week, Regis beat Central Linn 30-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Rams.
Kennedy led the league in scoring this week by notching 49 points on Waldport.
Trenton Marquart threw for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 17-33 with 2 interceptions.
Caleb Bullock was the best wideout in the league this week as the Irish fell to the Trojans. Bullock racked up 6 receptions for 87 yards. Scott Kowalski helped Waldport's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 64 yards.
Leading 2A Tri-River in both passing and receiving yards, Waldport's Marquart and Kraig Pruett have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Marquart has thrown for 1,105 yards this season, while Pruett has 29 catches for 473 yards. Jeremiah Grieser from Regis leads the league in rushing with 1,654 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Kennedy takes on Santiam. As it stands, Randy Traeger's team is in second, while the Wolverines are in fourth.
Santiam made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,751 from 13,805. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 46-0 victory over Chemawa Indian last week.
