South Bend Adams scaled the state rankings by moving to 77 from 121 this week, the biggest jump in Northern Indiana. The Eagles were able to move up by besting South Bend St. Joseph 40-34.
Penn extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating South Bend Clay, 57-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
The Indians' Matthew Monserez and Eric Mossey have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Monserez has thrown for 731 yards this season, while Mossey, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 24 catches for 410 yards. Joe Phillips from Elkhart Central leads the league in rushing with 326 yards.
An important game coming up in Northern Indiana this week will be when Mishawaka Marian takes on South Bend St. Joseph. The Knights are in second place, while Ben Downey's team is in third place.
Penn led the league in scoring this week by notching 57 points on the Colonials.
