West Lafayette has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 30 points or more this season.
West Lafayette had a senior duo take command as Sarah Werth scored 22 points along with three steals and Adrianne Tolen scored 20 points along with five steals. Tolen has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Andrew, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Lafayette Jefferson had strong showings from Amani Byrd, who scored eight points along with three steals, and Da'Niyah Johnson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
West Lafayette's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Lafayette will take on Tippecanoe Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tippecanoe Valley will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they will head out on the road to challenge Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marion has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 10.
