The Nelsonville-York Buckeyes's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 58-45 win over Meigs. The win was just what Nelsonville-York needed coming off of a 67-46 loss in their prior game.
Leading Nelsonville-York to victory were Alayna Okulich and Airah Lavy. Okulich dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Lavy scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Lavy hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Madi Pidcock, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Nelsonville-York now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Meigs, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Nelsonville-York will head out on the road to face off against Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jackson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Meigs, they will be playing at home against Athens at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
