Markesan hasn't had much luck against Cambria-Friesland recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hornets will take on the Hilltoppers at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
On Monday, Markesan made easy work of Randolph and carried off a 12-6 win.

Ali Kirker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Jaelyn Walker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Markesan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cambria-Friesland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Pardeeville an 8-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Hilltoppers have won 11 contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Enya Heller's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Janell Villarreal, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rayna Helmer, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.
Cambria-Friesland pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Markesan, their record now sits at 5-10-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Markesan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .356. However, it's not like Cambria-Friesland struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Markesan might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Cambria-Friesland in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
