The Southwest Onslow Stallions put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Lenoir 56-28 at home. Southwest Onslow has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Southwest Onslow's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yamorie Hardison, who scored 18 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Hardison is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Oriyanna Galloway, who scored ten points along with seven assists and five steals.
When it comes to explaining why South Lenoir lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gracie Tyndall. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tyndall has scored all season.
Southwest Onslow pushed their record up to 19-0 with that victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29 points. As for South Lenoir, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Onslow has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Wallace-Rose Hill at 6:30 p.m. on February 8th. Wallace-Rose Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for South Lenoir, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against East Duplin at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully South Lenoir focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
