The Springwood Wildcats have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 37-36 to Lee-Scott Academy. If Springwood hoped to take revenge for the 62-42 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Lee-Scott Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison Davis, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Clarke Ivatt, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Springwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Lee-Scott Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Glenwood the next time they take the court. Springwood will host Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lee-Scott Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
