Calvary Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Tarpon Springs by a score of 7-3. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Spongers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Caden Schlotterbeck looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maximus Mayes, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Traina, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Calvary Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tarpon Springs only posted a batting average of .222.
Meanwhile, Jefferson didn't have quite enough to beat Robinson on Tuesday and fell 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Dragons have lost by just one run.
Elijah Benton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Isiah Fernandez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
This is the second loss in a row for Jefferson and nudges their season record down to 15-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Calvary Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 24-3.
Both Calvary Christian and Jefferson just can't seem to miss. The Warriors have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Jefferson struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits.
